Fondazione Fitzcarraldo onlus is a nonprofit and independent centre for planning, research, training and documentation on cultural, arts and media management, economics and policies.

Fitzcarraldo helps organizations and cultural operators to conceive a sustainable strategy, to manage their core activities in a more efficient way, to transform ideas into projects.

It works with public and private institutions in order to design programs and policies responding to the real needs of those who create, produce and organize cultural activities.

It carries out researches in the world of cultural organizations, cultural production and consumption under different perspectives. It works towards the implementation of platforms for the debate and discussion on the cultural development of the society among different stakeholders.

Our work combines specific expertise and an integrated approach of our two main focuses Research and Consulting and Training, supported by a specialized Documentation Centre and a New Media team.

Since 1998 Fitzcarraldo Foundation has been responsible  – as well as the Institute for Social and Economic Research of the Piedmont (IRES) – for the institutional research activities of the Cultural Observatory of Piedmont (www.ocp.piemonte.it).

For the past 18 years Fitzcarraldo has been planning and implementing courses, seminaries and conferences aiming to supply cultural operators with a high quality level offer of training on management, communication, fundraising, internationalization and accessibility concerning the cultural offer... Each year it trains 25 project managers in the CRPC – Advanced Training Course for Cultural Project Managers, a practical and operational learning experience built according to the project submitted by the participant.

Fondazione Fitzcarraldo coaches several organizations in the development of new projects, such as the opening of a new cultural center or a museum and evaluates the investment programs and social impacts of cultural initiatives.

Every year, it gathers the arts & culture community - made up of operators, policy makers, scholars, funders, trainers and stakeholders in general - at ArtLab (http://artlab.fitzcarraldo.it) the conference that takes stock of arts and culture in Italy.

To keep alive its ability to propose new solutions and to enrich the consulting and training initiatives, Fitzcarraldo focuses on innovation, testing new methods, approaches and issues in order to match the real needs of stakeholders.

It does so also by looking systematically for partnerships and synergies with local, regional, national and international organizations and by participating in several cultural and professional networks as ENCATC-Network of European Centres in Cultural Administration Training Centre, IETM - International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts, EUConsult The European Association of Consultants to and about Not-for-Profit Organizations).
