Ensuring the development of the Highlands. This is the main task Uncem Piedmont - National Union of Municipalities and Agencies mountain - and 22 mountain Communities. Since 2008, they are "Development Agencies" that promote and enhance the sectors related to renewable energy and green economy, tourism and agriculture in the mountains and run the associated services between the municipalities that compose them. Uncem is the “union of the mountain territory”. The Delegation of Piedmont - now led by Lido Riba, with the vice-presidents Giovanni Francini and Dina Benna - brings 22 mountain Communities and 553 municipalities: half of the Piedmont, for a million inhabitants.
