Civita was created in 1987 with the objective of preserving and enriching Italy’s stunning cultural and environmental patrimony. Towards that end, Civita has been engaged in activities promoting technological, organisational, and managerial innovation in the conviction that realising the value of our country’s patrimony means fostering community identity, inter-generational dialogue, as well as economic development. The impressive progress achieved during Civita’s lifespan has made it a key player in the sector, enhacing its reputation and prestige. Today, the Civita Group is recognised as one of Italy's leaders in the development of cultural heritage and their surroundings. The Group is composed of two separate entities each with its own specialised capacities and particular function: the Civita Association and Civita Services. This structure enables us to provide an effective integrated range of competencies and services for culture and environment.

CIVITA ASSOCIATION
It’s a non-profit organisation founded by a group of for-profit companies, public research institutions and universities. Civita Association, in its over twenty year history, has been an active participant in the changes that have characterised the world of culture heritage during this time. The meeting of the local and the global, the fusion of innovation and culture, the strong complementarity between preservation, the enrichment of heritage and economic development - now as well as then - are the foundations upon which the Association's activities are based. These activities aim to promote a mutually beneficial relationship between the public sector and the private sector to promote exclusive and innovative projects that bring out the very best of museums and archaeological sites. Today, Civita Association, thanks to the support of over 180 associated enterprises - our Associates - continues its commitment to promoting culture through research, conferences, publications and projects.
CIVITA SERVICES
Civita Services srl was founded in 1999 by the Civita Association in order to take advantage of new opportunities arising for for-profit actors in the cultural heritage sector with the objective of creating a global operator capable of providing an integrated range of services. The Company has been able to build a strong reputation over a relatively short time and has been able to garner a major market share, making it a leader in the sector of cultural heritage. Civita Services' composition, its acquired know-how in the fields of organization, management and promotion as well as operating capacity across Italy, have enabled the Company to achieve significant growth through interventions nationwide as a multi-service provider. In addition to its Rome headquarters, Offices in Milan and Naples have been operative for a number of years. More recently, offices in Venice and Palermo have been set up thanks to the creation of regional companies, which have given life to entities strongly rooted in their localities.Also in the context of expansion, the fusion with Abete Group has enhanced capacities in Latium and the Marches, through the participation of Gebart. The latest step in this process of Civita Services' territorial expansion and reinforcement was the acquisition of a majority holding in Opera Laboratori Fiorentini.
