The Club of Commercial Diplomats is a free, non-profit association registered at the Chamber of Commerce in Rome. It was founded in October 2003 with the purpose of providing foreign embassies in Italy with public relations assistance and information on economic and commercial topics.

The association was founded by Mr Paolo Quercia together with a group of co-founder members who meet to follow the proposals coming from the group of Counselors and Attachés of foreign embassies. Currently about 60 embassies are members of the Club, mostly representatives of the economic and commercial sectors.The Honorary Presidency of the Association, currently a vacant position, can be held by the Italian Minister with the proxy for Foreign Trade, the Mayor of Rome, or by another person identified by the Steering Committee.

The Coordinator of the Club organizes the activities in collaboration with the President and Steering Committee. He is supported by the person responsible for external relations.

Targets: The Club of Commercial Diplomats proposes the realization of activities, services and special programs, both bilateral and multilateral, designed specifically to promote and disseminate knowledge of Italian productive and business system and territorial marketing. With this purpose, the Club organizes two types of activities: events in Rome and trips around Italy. The former are monthly and are organized to meet proposals from embassies or from the Club.The latter are trips in different Italian regions to facilitate an understanding of the different productive capabilities of Italy.
