The association "Conservare per innovare" (CXI) at DNA.italia. We spoke about it with the architect. Marialuce Reyneri, one of the founding members of the association, to discover the programs in place and synergies with DNA.italia.
Why CXI is born and what does it do?
"Conservare per Innovare", simply called CXI, is an association founded by a group of professionals (in the photo the founders of CXI), united by the desire to share a great passion turned to protection and promotion of our cultural heritage.
The goal that CXI arises is to contribute to issues of conservation, promoting meetings aimed at creating a critical debate in this area, by organizing visits to cultural heritage, restoration projects and workshops, conferences, refreshers courses, exhibitions and publications.

Among the recent activities there is "Cantierando 2011", what is it about?
The project of Cantierando wants to explore building sites along with architects, restorers, technicians of those sectors less known in the area of Piemonte, in order to stimulate exchanges of experience between different disciplines, to contribute to cultural enrichment and professional development of participants.
This year, since was the celebration of the anniversary of the Unification of Italy, it has been chosen a path of visits to discover the cultural, art and landscape treasures of Piemonte, who contributed to write the pages of the history of the Risorgimento, "CANTIERANDO 2011 NEL RISORGIMENTO ".
CXI will be present with a convention at DNA.italia, the first and only marketplace of cultural heritage. Can you give us a preview of the topics that will be discussed and participation at the event?
The intention is to stimulate a debate on the events’ outcome, such as those promoted for the 150 years anniversary of the unification of Italy, aimed at enhancing and getting to know our heritage. It provides stimuli to promote an area of extraordinary historical, architecture and art value, which is Piemonte, objective that can lead to important economic and employment benefits. It is our intention to involve in the conventions phase the institutions and private entities that have collaborated with us for the realization of "Cantierando 2011 nel Risorgimento."
DNA.italia promises to be a unique event in the cultural heritage sector, how important is this event in the current landscape and what contribution would you like to offer?
In these days in which the debate about the role of culture is very strong, as a result of cuts in this sector during the last year, it is important that DNA.italia aims to raise awareness of a growing audience around the restoration activities , to be understood not only as a restoration and enhancement of the individual, but also as factors in promotion of our region. The contribution that we think our association can offer, is to involve the audience of enthusiasts and experts on the subject, who had participate to Cantierando visits, in a final debate on the comparative development of cultural heritage, involving local authorities and associations, which for various reasons, operate on our territory.
